Terms
Terms of Service
Last updated: July 5, 2026
Welcome to Thankful Tees, operated by Humanicity (“we,” “us”). By creating an account or using Humanicity.com (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. Please read them — the conditional pre-order model at the heart of the Service works differently from an ordinary store.
1.The Service
Thankful Tees is a community crowdfunding platform for T-shirts. Artists submit designs built around a central letter “T” themed on gratitude; the community votes with conditional pre-orders; and a design is manufactured only if it reaches 100 pre-orders. A portion of proceeds is shared with the designer and with a community-selected charitable organization, as described below.
2.Accounts
You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction; if under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission to place pre-orders). You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the voting or referral systems, or harm the community.
3.Conditional pre-orders & payment
Authorization, not charge. When you place a pre-order, you authorize a hold on your payment method through our payment processor (Stripe). You are not charged at that time.
Threshold. If a design reaches 100 pre-orders, it enters production. We will notify you by email, and new pre-orders for that design may be frozen or assigned to a later batch.
24-hour grace window. For 24 hours after the threshold is met, you may cancel your pre-order with zero penalty from your dashboard; the hold on your card is released.
Capture. After the grace window closes, we capture payment for all remaining pre-orders and begin production. From that point the order is a completed purchase.
If the threshold is never met.You are never charged. Card authorizations lapse or are released per your card issuer’s rules.
Pricing. Prices are shown per design and may vary between campaigns. Taxes and shipping, where applicable, are shown at checkout.
4.Proceeds, designers & charities
For each captured order, we allocate a share of proceeds to the design’s artist: 15% on the initial threshold batch (the first production run triggered at 100 pre-orders) and 10% on all subsequent batches of the same design. We further allocate 10% to the charitable organization associated with the campaign. All allocations are recorded in our ledger. The remainder funds production, fulfillment, and the operation of the platform.
Charitable allocations are made by Humanicity to the named organization. Your pre-order is a purchase, not a donation, and is not tax-deductible to you. Charities listed on the Service are nominated by the community and reviewed by our staff, but we are not affiliated with them and make no warranty regarding their activities. If a selected charity is unable or ineligible to receive funds, we will redirect that allocation to a comparable approved organization.
5.Design submissions & intellectual property
Your ownership. Designers retain ownership of the artwork they submit.
Your license to us. By submitting a design, you grant Humanicity a worldwide, exclusive, royalty-bearing (per Section 4) license to display, reproduce, promote, manufacture, and sell products bearing the design through the Service, including in campaign batches after the initial threshold run. During the term of this license you agree not to reproduce, license, or sell the design (or products bearing it) outside the Service.
Your promises. You represent that the work is your own, does not infringe anyone’s rights, and contains no hateful, unlawful, or deceptive content. Submissions are reviewed by staff and may be declined or removed at our discretion. We respond to legitimate takedown notices; to file one, contact legal@humanicity.com.
6.Community standards: voting, nominations & referrals
- Charity voting is limited to two votes per user per calendar month; a charity is approved at 200 votes, subject to staff verification.
- One account per person. Creating multiple accounts, scripting, or otherwise manipulating votes, pre-orders, or referral attribution is prohibited and may result in removal of votes, cancellation of orders, and account termination.
- Nominations and other content you post must be truthful and respectful. We may edit listings for clarity or remove content that violates these Terms.
7.Shipping, returns & refunds
Production begins after capture, so please allow the stated production and shipping times. Once captured, orders are made to order and are generally not returnable except where required by law. We will replace or refund items that arrive defective, damaged, or misprinted — contact us within 30 days of delivery with photos and your order details. Refunds required by consumer law in your jurisdiction are always honored.
8.Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, and our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or (b) US $100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects statutory consumer rights.
9.General
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Humanicity is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with an updated date, and continued use after changes means acceptance. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Humanicity regarding the Service.
